Funding

An independent non-profit

To guard against the risks of commercial pressure, Disclose has non-profit status and is funded exclusively through donations.

Donations from individuals are our primary source of funding: they account for nearly 80% of our resources. In total, 5,000 readers showed their support for Disclose in 2025.

We also receive support from philanthropic foundations committed to defending civil liberties and independent journalism around the world. No foundation has access to our ongoing investigations or influence over our editorial decisions.

These organizations supported us in 2025

To preserve its independence, Disclose refuses public funding and corporate foundation grants.

The bulk of our resources is invested in investigative journalism: salaries for our permanent staff (five employees), compensation for about twenty freelancers, and direct investigative expenses (travel, legal fees, web development, graphic design, etc.).

Other expenses include fees (graphic design, finance, newsletters), office rent, and bank fees on donations received.

Disclose’s financial independence and disinterested management are monitored by the Board of Directors and a Supervisory Board. The accounts are also certified by an independent auditor.

Transparency in the management of our finances is essential. Our full financial statements are published in the Journal Officiel and are available below on our website:
